Medium sized Christmas Tree Salad Oil. Base Mark: Registered / 22, June 1847. Goldfields Salad Oil Applied top. Christmas tree design. Aqua. 13 oz. 238 mm. 1840s
Excellent. A little haze in the neck region. Tiny flake to outer lip. Some very light surface haze in places. 4 mm split near base is not very deep, this is like an annealing mark and likely from making. A bit of usage wear under the base. A couple of small spots of wear. Some scratches and the odd scuff mark. A rare variety in this size with the early registration details under the base, although very fine you can just see the remains of the pontil to the base as well. A great item!
