Excellent. 22 x 10 mm section of glaze scratching and flaking at the front left upper shoulder. Some quite light surface scuffs around. The lip has a couple of wear points and flakes through the glaze. Under the base one small chip and the usual clay pulls and firing cracks. Wonderful piece and a very rare, possibly unique(?) Hotel demijohn from Sydney. James Sinnott had been a Sydney publican from the mid 1880s but specifically ran the Grand View Hotel, Town Hall Hotel and Exchange Hotel along Oxford Street, Paddington at various times from 1896-1914.
