Pair of Preserving Jars: 1. Mason's / Patent / Nov 30th / 1858. Base: 3 with Owens ejection ring. 2. Trade Mark / No 1 / Lightning. Smooth base. Household Jar Screw top and lightning stopper. Crude machine finished lip and ground lip. Clear and Aqua. Half Gallon & Quart. 220 & 193 mm. 1900s-1920s
Mason's is Good. It has a backwards L shaped fracture in the side top coming 12 mm down from the lip and then 15 mm along the bottom part of the top. A couple of nibbles around the lip. Some scratches and haze. Beautiful whittled glass. Quite unusual in a very clear colour. The Lightning is Excellent. Some nibbles around the ground lip. Wear to the mid top. Some general light marks.
