Pair of early Mustards: 1. Mustard barrel. Base: Pontil and embossed (Louit (illegible) / Bordeaux). 2. Mustard barrel with stars to two sides. Base Mark: Pontil. Goldfields Mustard Applied top. Aqua & Clear. 1/4 Pint. 117 & 99 mm. 1850s
1. Excellent. Some outer lip grime which will soak off. Shallow flake to the lower applied lip. Some inner base dust that will wash out. A few light scratches. It is hard to read the writing to the base due to the pontil. Very interesting item. 2. Excellent. Tiny surface bubble to outer lip. Little flake to bottom of applied lip. Inner base dust and grime that will wash out. Tiny nick to base edge. Some outer dust that will clean off. Just a couple of fine scratches and minor marks. Tiny nick or two to surface. A lovely, early item, I have not seen this star version before. Grade: N/A Estimate: $40 - 60
