Lobed neck pickle. Base Mark: 'AIRE / AND / CALDER / PATENT'. Goldfields Pickle Applied top, lobed neck, square body. Olive Green. 1 Quart. 235 mm. 1850s
Fair. Looks superb on the shelf with the original stopper. However, a crack from the top of the lip goes straight down across the neck ring, then curves out to the wide part of the lobed neck where it curves back again and goes down to the bottom of the lobed neck and to the top of one of the panels. This cannot be seen from one side, and so looks great on display. Just a few spots of wear to the raised edges otherwise and some fine scratches. Stopper has a large chunk out of one edge. An absolutely stunning, large item, a must have for any goldfields collection. Grade: 5.4 Estimate: $200 - 300
