Good looking South African hybrid and rare with the green marble, we have sold the large size in Auction 13, this is the first small one we have sold. The following information is supplied and verified by Rod Comer and Gerard de Kamper from South Africa: "The De Hoop, (factory established in1885) green marble, is one of the earliest Pretoria hybrids, which, because of its slender marble chamber structure, is commonly referred to, as a “narrow-neck”, and dates to 1892-1895. The company was owned by Hermanus van Reijn and Abraham Idenburg and closed in 1915 when it became part of The United Mineral Water Factory. This 6 oz is a lot more scarce than the 10 oz. version."
