(Edward Daun & John Vallentin of the Lambeth Distillers, Church Street, Lambeth). Spirits Gin Large cut glass back bar dispenser. Etched print. Gold leaf inlaid. Ground lip and base. Applied tap hole. 645 mm with lid. 1890s
Excellent. Scattered scratches including some inside from cleaning. 15 x 5 mm chip inside the front lip. 5 x 5 mm flake chip on the front left shoulder. A bit of wear to the gold in the etched design. A bit of flaking at the bottom of the tap hole but could be from making. Shallow 6 x 5 mm chip at the heel. The lid is nice but at the base of it there is an impact with a fracture around it covering roughly 30 x 9 mm. Tap is a bit dirty and tarnished with what looks like the original cork around it. A stunning piece for any collection. (This same Lot previously sold Auction 19, Lot 825). Grade: 8.5 Estimate: $800 - 1200
