Pair of Large Australian Masons Jars, no lids: 1. Mason's / (MFJ Monogram) / Patent / Nov. 30th / 1858. Base: .M.. 2. Mason's diagonally between two geometric shapes. Owens machine ejection ring to base. Household Jar Large Fruit jars. Ground lip and machine finished. Aqua & dark Sun Coloured Amethyst. Half Gallon. 225 & 222 mm. 1910s-1920s
The MFJ is Very Good. A few nibbles and small chips around the ground lip. Scratches and scuffs. Also a bit dirty and grimy. Very shallow open bubble on the front from making. The purple one is Very Good. Some scuffs and marks but also a bit dirty and will clean up nicely. Superb colour. Typical early Melbourne machine made bottle with swirls of bubbles and making marks all throughout. A very nice pair of jars. Grade: N/A Estimate: $50 - 75
