Sporting Buckle Cricket belt buckle: CRICKET in a sash across a shield bearing a bat and balls, with two bats and a ball behind the shield amongst a wreath, with British Registration Diamond. 61 x 48 mm. 1870s
Excellent. Registered in June 1873. Remains of the gold plating. Some corrosion, but not much in the way of pitted marks. Still has the latch and loop, looks like a bit of the cloth still under the loop. Quite golden looking underneath. The main badge on the front is an attachment which is held securely in place by two hooks. A few minor dints and bends, but overall, a very solid example of a great looking buckle. From a collection that we are continuing to disperse over the next two auctions. Grade: N/A Estimate: $150 - 200
