Cowap. No potters stamp. (Tasmania) Ginger Beer Cork Stoppered Two tone, brown lip, off white body. Impressed. 10 oz. 172 mm. 1890s
Restored. The whole top has been rebuilt from about half way up the neck. It looks OK externally, the inner lip is much wider than it should be at about 23 mm across - that would be one LARGE cork! The outer lip is quite well matched colour wise, this is quite blotchy and lumpy though. There was a crack down the left and rear to near the base, this has been extremely well painted over and can now not be seen at all. Kiln kiss to front from making. Flake under rear base heel. A few discoloured spots. Some scratches and minor marks. A great shelf example of a very rare bottle from Tasmania, also made at one of the Tasmanian potteries (well most of it was anyway!) Grade: 0 Estimate: $400 - 600
