1. Very Good. Scattered spots of rust stain on the surface. Fleabites and light wear at the lip and shoulder. The odd small surface mark. Really nice example that will be even better with a clean. 2. Good. Several chips around the lip. Front shoulder is a bit chippy too. Glaze miss near the front base edge. Some light wear. A few kiln marks. Decent example. 3. Good. But very very scruffy over the surface. Little pit marks and the like all over. Good embossing. 4. Fair. A large part of the top has been rebuilt by the looks of it. Scratches and wear otherwise. Some amazing firing cracks and kiln blowouts all over. Some small chips and marks blend in with the kiln faults. A nice crude bottle. 5. Good. This is a horribly made bottle and that is its appeal! No wonder the pottery didn't put their stamp on it. Someone has put some lacquer on it but this has partly been peeled off. Looks like they have tried to fill some small chips at the shoulder. Looking inside there is no signs of repair so nothing major has gone on. Big flat section on the top is all original. Finger marks around the stamp and tool scrape marks down the side. Even a kiln blowout up high on the body. Ugly mottled glaze. Like I said, an absolutely beautiful example of ugly pottery! Grade: N/A Estimate: $70 - 100
