1. Fair. Top is original, but has repairs in the upper region. A couple of hairlines inside the lip, these can't be seen on the outside. Small flake to underside of right top. Front right base edge has a repaired chip over about 35 x 20 mm. Front left base edge has a larger repaired chip through part of the potters stamp too, roughly 40 x 40 mm. Most of the base edge has some paintwork from repaired chips and flakes as well. Horseshoe hairline to base edge. Glaze wear throughout including some flakes scattered around. 2. Repaired. The blue lip has been applied from a different bottle. About a 30 x 15 mm chunk from front right upper neck has also been filled and a thin band below the lip at the rear has been roughly filled. Couple of spots of wear to the lip. 23 x 8 mm chip to left base edge, a smaller flake under the base here too. Heavily discoloured throughout. 3. Good. Minor glaze flake and some glaze wear to lip. Upper front left neck going into lip has a series of flakes through the glaze. Right base edge has a couple of little glaze flakes. A bit of fine discolouration in places. A few scratches. Some minor spotty wear to be found. 4. Repaired. Broken below the lip and on an angle down the neck on one side. The original piece has been glued back in, but there is some flaking along the join. Much of the upper lip is chipped. Crack to lip. Some other cracks to the neck and upper body. Heavily stained throughout. Worn as well. Some fine hairlines to lower body. A few glaze flakes here and there. 5. Restored. Straight line mid neck, where the original bottle was cut straight across with another top stuck on. The entire tan area is fully painted. The body has a chip to front left base edge. Some surface rust. A bit of fine wear, some scratches and minor marks. 6. Very Good. Small flake to right rear lip edge. Some minor glaze wear in places around the lip. Heavy, chunky rust stain down the left with some further patchy rust stain elsewhere. A little spotty wear to the glaze. A few scratches. Soaking in rust remover will leave a really nice example. This would have been made at one of the Melbourne potteries, it has a wonderful mottled neck glaze which only come just over half way down the neck. A nice example of what is otherwise a very common bottle. 7. Broken. The lip is broken and missing, this comes down further than just the crown in places. The top has been broken through the lower neck at the bottom of the blue section as well, this original piece has been glued back on. The body is pretty good, there is a kiln kiss to the upper part of the badge, Some stains and grime. Short discoloured hairline to the lower rear. Patch or two of rust stain. Some scratches and minor marks. A rare bottle, worthy of restoration. These are from the late Roy Millar collection. Grade: N/A Estimate: $75 - 100
