N/A. (N/A). 1. Good. The main thing with this one is that the embossing is almost "ghosted" on. Very weak all around which is the way it has been made. Stained throughout. Dark scratch down the neck and shoulder to the back and side. Scuffed areas. Annealing mark in the top. Interesting example with the weirdly formed embossing. 2. VG. Dull and stained. Scuffs and scratches. Looks solid overall. Unusual patent. Comes with a card that shows the embossing and has a note: John Phillips Patentee. in England June 19 1883. (late Ern Taylor Collection).
