Dickson Bros / Petersburg. No potters stamp. (South Australia). Demijohn. Impressed. Two tone, tan top, off white body. Impressed. Handled. 1/2 Gallon. 245 mm. 1910s
Very Good. (7.1). 20 x 10 mm flake to outer front left lip has been repaired, this must have been very shallow as it looks like it only came about 1-2 mm into the upper lip. A superb repair as well that is not obvious at all. Small flake to right outer lip has been filled as well. About a 15 x 8 mm chip to outer rear lip immediately above the handle has also been superbly repaired. Mid right rear body has a spot of wear on a making lump. A few discoloured scratches to the left rear. Some other scratches to be found. A few little pin prick blow outs from making. Some discolouration in a swirled effect around the body, possibly as made? Extremely rare, possibly unique, much like the large example also on offer in this auction! Advertising from Dickson Bros only ran from 1912-1915, not sure on the full duration of the business.. Estimate: $500-750
