Moonee / Valley Coy / Melbourne / MVBW // (Horseshoe around Horse and Rider jumping a hurdle) / Trade Mark. Base Mark: M.V. (Victoria). Aerated Water. Codd. Dobson or Four way type. Applied top. Deep Aqua. 10 oz. 238 mm. 1890s
Very Good. (7.1). Polished. Remains of fisheyes scattered around, one to side base edge is larger than standard. Another of similar size to base edge below the trade mark. 70 mm streak through the trade mark is a line of dark green glass within the glass from making, quite a unique making mark. Some nibbled wear to the heavily embossed horse. Some scratches and scuffs to be found. Little nibbled mark to bottom of the applied lip to one side. A fair bit of hand preparation was done prior to polish, this is evident around the neck groove and dimples where the surface is now quite smooth, this would have been done to remove fisheyes and scratches more than likely. Having said that, this is a decent example and the polish job has actually been quite good.. Estimate: $200-300
