The S. A. B. Co Challenge Trophy, 1953. (South Australian Brewing Co., Adelaide, South Australia). Beer. Trophy. Plated trophy on wooden base. Stokes made medallion on top with golfer. About 425 mm high. 1953-1970
Very Good. (N/A). Little knock to Stokes medallion. Some grime. This screws off. Trophy itself is quite tarnished. A few scratches and minor marks. The original oval shield at front is dated 1953. From then on there are a series of shields added with dates on and either the word Office or Technical which signifies the winning team I would suggest. The wood has some varnish flakes and so forth. This trophy was awarded for an annual golf match between the technical and office staff at the South Australian Brewing company. A fabulous and most certainly unique piece of our brewing history!.
