Bux Brewing Co / (BBCo Monogram) / Melbourne. Base Mark: M. (Victoria). Aerated Water. Codd. Applied top, four way pour Dobson style patent. Aqua. 26 oz. 276 mm. 1900s
Very Good. (7.4). Couple of tiny surface impact flakes/fisheyes to upper lip. Rusty looking scuff mark to rear lip. Upper rear has a couple of short, wide scuffed marks, there are also some thin deepish scratches to the rear body and into the rear neck groove. Some light scuffed scratches and mark to the right body. Scuffed scratch to front just below the neck groove actually has a shallow 5 x 3 mm flake associated with it. Couple of little surface bubbles. 10 x 5 mm nibbled but very shallow flake to left heel. Couple of impact type surface fractures to heel around to the front from this, sort of like larger shallow fisheyes in a crescent shape. A few fisheyes and minor impact marks. Some other light scuffs and scratches to be found. Nice embossing has a little high point wear in places, but is mostly pretty good, there are a couple of little nibbled marks to the trade mark. Looks to have been oiled internally at some stage, there is a bit of associated inner grime. An extremely rare bottle, one of Victoria's rarest large codd bottles, don't miss this important opportunity. Estimate: $2000-3000
