Halley's Comet on a very large applied seal. Conical punt to base.. Early Glass. Wine. Magnum sized sealed wine bottle. Applied double string lip. Large applied seal to shoulder. Black (Dark Olive Green). 330 mm. 1835
Near Mint. (9.2). It has been suggested that these were made for the appearance of Halley's Comet in 1835. Rare bottle in this large size and a beautiful large and well-struck seal. Right rear shoulder has a small patch of scratches. A few other light scratches and minor marks. Upper left neck has a slightly scuffed surface scratch. Superb large seal bottle, only the second one we have handled. Estimate: $500-750
