Sold for A$410

Henry Wilding / (Cross with Stars) / Superior / Queenscliff / Ginger Beer. Potters Stamp: The Bendigo Pottery / Epsom / Bendigo / Coy Ltd. (potters stamp appears twice in a criss-cross pattern) (Victoria). Ginger Beer. Cork Stoppered. Champagne shape. Tan Top. Black Print. 10 oz. 221 mm. 1890s

Good. (6.6). Lip chip has been filled. Interestingly the obvious spot you'd suspect - the big dip on the left side - seems to be original. The chip itself looks more like it is down the front top and is about 19 x 18 mm. Glazed over "chip" at the bottom edge of the right top. Little bit of rust stain and the like around. A very oddly shaped and heavy bottle. Doesn't look like the potter was having a great day, see also the crossed over pottery stamps on the back. This is actually a pretty decent example of a rare ginger beer. This is the exact example as sold in Auction 49 (Lot 1111). Estimate: $500-1000
