Very Good. (7.6). Upper left rear lip has a making fold. Couple of other crude making marks to the lip. 20 mm slightly scuffed and discoloured scratch to rear lip, this is shallow. Another surface scratch to left of this. Inner chamber has a line of fine marble wear, this is minor, also a bit of dirt which will soak out can be seen internally. Starting at right end of neck groove over the seam and going down the right body is a patchy scuffed series of discoloured scratches over a total of about 125 mm, but like mentioned, this is patchy. There is a little surface nibbled mark in the lower section of this. Mid rear has two scuffed patches of about 15 x 8 mm and 10 x 4 mm, not overly deep though. Couple of other light scuffs to lower rear. Tiny nick to upper front. Some short scratches to be found. Brilliantly strong and crisp embossing, the R of Clare has a couple of small nibbled impacts, there is a small chip to the E of Clare which is only 2 x 3 mm. A great example overall of this extremely rare and sought after large South Australian codd bottle, this first we have sold. Estimate: $5000-7500
