Fred Allen / (Rampant Lion in a Shield) / Trade Mark / Beechworth. Base: M. (Victoria). Aerated Water. Codd. Dobson or Four way. Applied top. Aqua. 10 oz. 236 mm. 1900s
Very Good. (7). 5 x 3 mm nibbled shallow flake to left lip, upper lip here has a shallow bruise over about 10 x 4 mm. Little flake to rear lip. Bottom of the heel has been ground along the ridges for the entire circumference, this ring is 3-4 mm wide. Not sure why this was done other than to be stable on the table, it is possible it was done in manufacture to rectify wonkiness? Alternatively some flaking has been ground off, though why would they not work on the lip too if that were the case? Regardless, it doesn't effect the bottle which looks great on display. Shallow surface bubble across the R of Beechworth. Some scratches and the odd scuff mark. Nice example of a very hard to get bottle, we have sold many more of the small size than this large size. Estimate: $200-300
