Cone shape. Spiral Pattern. Registration Diamond to base which is hidden by the pontil. (United Kingdom) (This is from the late Kingsley Durdin collection). Goldfields. Salad Oil. Cone shaped. Spiral pattern all around with label space to one side. Applied lip. Aqua. 6 oz. 165 mm. 1850s+
Very Good. (7.1). A few shallow flakes and nibbled marks around the upper lip. One small chip has a 3 mm fracture from it, this could be a making split. Annealing fractures from making to inner neck. Patch of rust to upper body. One or two fisheyes. A few scratches and the odd scuff mark. You can see that this did have a British registration diamond, but now only the very top and point of diamond can be seen as the pontil has taken its place totally. Unusual and a hard to get Goldfields era salad oil. This is part of the late Kingsley Durdin collection. Estimate: $150-200
