Wawn Bros & Co / Trade Mark / (Steam Ship within a Lifebuoy) / Registered // Wawn Bros & Co / This bottle is the property / of Wawn Bros & Co It is not sold / with the contents but is only loaned. Base Mark: Owens machine ejection ring. (New South Wales) (Late Kingsley Durdin collection). Household. Jar. Applied top, spun finish. Very pale amethyst. 1 Pound. 128 mm. 1910s

Very Good. (7). Heavily oiled internally with associated grime. Wonky lip, as per manufacture. Some shallow flakes and nibbles to inner rear lip around a seam, possibly from making. Tiniest of nicks to upper lip. 8 mm line belwo the A of Wawn to upper rear looks like a scratch, there is an 8 mm line offset on the inner surface under the first W of Wawn as well, with the heavy oiling, I believe this is likely an angled crack where the oil has soaked into the glass to make the inner section invisible. Just a couple of scratches. Small surface bubble to inner mid surface. Streak curving around the left heel is a making mark, a form of airbubble. Cleaning out the inner oily grime will help a lot. This is a very rare jar in this small size, the first we have ever sold. This is from the late Kingsley Durdin collection. Estimate: $100-150
