C. Base Mark: Rd No 29/666 / Made in England. (United Kingdom) (Late Kingsley Durdin Collection). Ink. Stoneware. Fabulous inkwell in a barrel mounted to a square base. Black print on white. 125 mm across. 1910s
Very Good. (7.5). This would have had a metal cap mounted on the barrel which is no longer in place. There is wear around the outer lip where this would have been. 20 mm hairline to lower barrel on one side, 30 mm example on the other side. Couple of other glaze lines around the barrel. Upper part of base has a 30 x 25 mm patch of rust stain, another near this at bottom of the plinth, this can be seen underneath as well. Some fine crazing and minor marks. Great example of a most unusual and fantastic looking ink well. This is from the late Kingsley Durdin collection. Estimate: $150-200
