Early English Porter Marked EX. No potters stamp. (United Kingdom). Pottery. Beer. Ealry impressed English porter. Salt Glaze. 26 oz. 250 mm. 1830s
Very Good. (7.5). Crazing scattered around. Some of this is discoloured and heavy and has formed a some hairlines around the bottle. Some lines of discoloured glaze where this has been against other bottles in the kiln, there are four of these down from the shoulder. Each of these has a chip, flake or kiln kiss associated - main mark being a chip at the bottom of a glazedrip to right of the EX mark of about 9 x 9 mm. Lump to mid front body from making. Couple of flakes to base edge. Flake or two to lower body. Great piece of history, would date to the 1830s with the Excise mark on it. Plenty of marks, but most are the way it was actually made. Estimate: $50-75
