Sample sized Pedestal Pickle. Pontil. (United States) (Late Kingsley Durdin collection). Goldfields. Pickle. Inwardly rolled lip. Square with pedestal base. Pontil. Blue-Aqua. 4 oz. 138 mm. 1850s
Very Good. (7.5). Polished. The lip is inwardly rolled on this bottle. A little hazy. Some inner base dirt and grime. 4 x 3 mm nibbled impact mark to base edge. Line of scratches around inner neck. Remains of the odd scratch and scuff mark to be found. Pontil has a small associated flake or two. Surface has a nice whittled effect from making. Great item, can't recall seeing a sample sized pedestal pickle before! This has the distinctive American blue-aqua colour to it. This is from the late Kingsley Durdin collection. Estimate: $300-400
