This bottle is the property of / (Bird in Flight) / The Bluebird Cordial Co. Base mark: AGM. (Hobart, Tasmania). Aerated Water. Crown Seal. Machine made. Aqua. 10 oz. 228 mm. 1922
Very Good. (7.1). Hazy throughout. Dull outer appearance looks to be a fine matted overall wear. 3 x 2 mm pitted impact to outer embossed line to left. Nick or two to lip. Wide, pitted scratch to upper right neck. Upeer right body at the front and lower shoulder has a few pitted scratches. Short, deeper scuffed scratch to upper rear. Plenty of other slightly lighter scuffed scratches down the rear. Scuffed scratch to lower front as well. Pitted scratch to left of trade mark. A little wear to the embossing and trade mark. Pitted scratch to rear heel. Solid example of a rare bottle, only the second one that we have handled. The Bluebird Cordial Co was started in July 1922 at Tregear's Buildings in Hobart by A. Plumpton Wilson and Wm Berry who were old friends. The friendship soured quickly with court proceedings in February around the dissolution of the partnership and sale of the assets, this company was only in operation for a matter of months! Estimate: $300-500
