Les. Bray / Ginger / Beer / St Arnaud. Impressed stamp: Bendigo Pottery / Epsom. (Victoria). Ginger Beer. Crown Seal. Champagne shape. Tan top (slight tri-colour effect). Black Print. 10 oz. 220 mm. 1920s
Good. (6.3). Couple of repaired outer lip crown chips, one to left of 10-15 mm, one to rear of about 10 mm. Paint over the remainder of the crown, but looks to be mostly OK, if there are any other repairs, they would only be small flakes. Inner lip is original right around, and so none of the chips have been major. 9 x 5 mm chip at front left base edge, continues under the base a further 10 x 5 mm. Little dark hairline up from this over only 4 mm. Chip to front right base edge of about 10 x 6 mm. 10 x 5 mm chip to right rear base edge below the potters stamp, which itself is indistinct. Band of discoloured wear about 15 mm up from the base. Some other slightly discoloured glaze wear in places. 20 mm discoloured scratch with a nick or two at end to left of badge. Slightly discoloured surface scratch under the word beer. Solid example of a rare ginger beer. We have sold the cork stoppered example with this same badge once before, but never this highly desirable crown seal version. Estimate: $500-750
