Pair of large amber bottles, lightning stopper, Patent September 10, 1878. Bottom of stopper is marked: Lightning / 4 / Sept 10 78. (One has a 3 on the stopper).. Glassware. Patent. Both applied top. Ovoid rectangular shape. Lightning stopper. Wire handles, ring in neck below lip to allow handle clamp to sit. Around 1/2 Gallon. 1. 283 mm. 2. 278 mm.. 1880s
N/A. (N/A). 1. Excellent. Wire handle is rusty. Some inner contents residue type stain. Surface bubble or two. Some scuffed scratches and so forth, nothing too deep. 2. Very Good. Stopper is a bit deteriorated on this one, this has a 3 on it rather than a 4. You can still read Lightning, but the date is hard to make out. Handle is rusty. Some inner dirt should soak out. Surface bubble or two. Some scuffs and scratches. Most interesting pair, I have a feeling these are Melbourne made? Estimate: $80-100.
