Cathedral Salad Oil with Lobed Shoulder, Octagonal. British Registration Diamond to base. (United Kingdom) (This is from the late Kingsley Durdin collection). Goldfields. Salad Oil. Applied top. Ring in neck. Lobed octagonal neck. Body has eight catehdral arches alternating between a flat base arch and an arch with a groove along it. Pedestal base. British Registration Diamond. Lime Green. 7 oz. 199 mm. 1850s
Very Good. (7.3). Polished. 3 x 2 mm mark to outer lip is either an open bubble or a flake, regardless, this is minor. Some annealing marks to inner lip. Inner shoulder has dull patches, looks to be sections of very fine scratches, the larger of which has little pinpricks marks through it. Blutak under base. Some little nicks. Scratches and scuffs scattered around. This is an amazing bottle, a rarity indeed, but in this lime colour it is elevated even higher. This is part of the late Kingsley Durdin collection. Estimate: $1500-2000
