I. C. Hoffmann (On applied seal). Deep punt to base. (United Kingdom). Wine. Sealed. Applied top. Applied seal. Black. 13 oz. 215 mm. 1840s
Very Good. (7.5). Crude, wonky lip from making. Even cruder and wonkier base from making, this is quite recessed at the left rear. Couple of tiny nicks to the lip. A little rust to left shoulder. A bit scuffed to the front shoulder. Discoloured, slightly scuffed scratches to rear shoulder and a small patch to upper mid rear. Some other fine scratches and the odd scuff mark. A little bit of grime and some very fine dullness. Overall, a great example of this early and unusual little bottle. I. C. Hoffmann are better known for their range of early jam jars. We have never sold one of these before. Estimate: $150-200
