H. W. Potts / Chemist / Melbourne. Base Mark: W within a bevelled triangle. (Victoria). Medicine. Chemist. Applied top. Light Ice Blue. 8 oz. 162 mm. 1880s
Excellent. (8.1). Some fine inner dirt, mainly around shoulder, this will soak out. Little nick to upper front left corner. Rear has a nick to the edge on both right and left side near the shoulder. Just a few light scratches. Lovely example. H. W. Potts was born in Northumberland in 1855, he was high up in the agricultural societies and the dairying industry, and even became principal of the Hawkesbury Agricultural College in 1902. He retired in 1920. He also had a chemist shop in Euroa, in 1892 he was listed there, late of Melbourne! This bottle is from his earlier Melbourne days, likely in the 1880s. Estimate: $30-50
