Penny ink with pouring lip. Potters stamp: Doulton (illegible) 28. Household Ink Mottled light and dark tan glaze. 55 mm. 1890s
Excellent. Unusual rough glaze to upper lip, may be some wear? The upper shoulder has a spotted glaze, the light spots are where there is less glaze. To the rear one of these appears to actually be a glaze flake. Some dark lines in the upper region may be scratches? Very crudely made piece, these Doulton penny inks are quite scarce, this one with the mottled glaze looks superb. Grade: 8.4 Estimate: $20 - 30
