Handyside's / Consumption Cure. Base Mark: (Dot). (United Kingdom). Medicine. Cure. Applied top. Black. 8 oz. 209 mm. 1880s
Very Good. (7.7). Thanks to AA Auctions: "George Handyside, was a well known manufacturing chemist in Newcastle. He was also a business magnate and purveyor of elixirs (including even a cure for alcoholism) and who wrote his own book 'Every Man Should Be His Own Doctor' which sold over 1 million copies." This example has some inner dirt which will soak out. Tiny nick or two to outer lip edge. Fold to lower right across towards the lower front, this is a making mark. Couple of tiny nicks to the corners. Some minor surface rust in places. Some scratches and the odd scuff mark. Little surface bubble or two. We have not sold one of these before. There are three different Handyside bottles in this auction. Estimate: $50-75
