Sold for A$80

Blood Food / Prepared by / G. Handyside. No base mark. (United Kingdom). Medicine. Cure. Applied top. Black. 1 Pint. 254 mm. 1880s

Very Good. (7.4). Thanks to AA Auctions: "George Handyside, was a well known manufacturing chemist in Newcastle. He was also a business magnate and purveyor of elixirs (including even a cure for alcoholism) and who wrote his own book 'Every Man Should Be His Own Doctor' which sold over 1 million copies." This example has some lip folds from making. Some fine inner dirt which will soak out. Patch of rust to lower rear. 3 x 2 mm flake to right base edge. 5 x 5 mm shallow flake to left rear base heel. Little spot of wear to front base edge. Some deeper scuffs and scratches down the rear and near the front base edge. Generally quite shiny, a lovely looking bottle. We have never sold one in this size before. There are three different Handyside bottles in this auction. Estimate: $50-75
